Seminary on the Horizon!
In a previous post I mentioned that I had applied for the Master of Theological Studies program at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. One of the biggest hurdles was the cost, which isn't bad actually, but after much prayer I applied for the Caskey Church Planting Scholarship hoping that God would do something incredible.
I am humbled that God heard my prayers and answered them, and as of yesterday, I am one of the recipients of the Caskey Church Planting Scholarship! Praise God!
This scholarship is good for the 2015-2016 academic year and will allow me to begin taking classes part time in September. This program is completely online and will provide a robust theological training on a graduate level as well as equip me with practical ministry leadership skills specific to church planting work. This program also has "field education" credits built into it, meaning, that my work for Redeeming Life Church will count as "class work on the field" and I will have professors helping me to evaluate and critique what I'm doing and what I'm learning. All of this, of course, is for the purpose of making me a more usable instrument in God's hands as a pastor at Redeeming Life Church.
While my tuition will be covered by this scholarship, I will still need to cover the cost of books on my own. If you would like to support my efforts toward becoming a better full time pastor, you can support me specifically by helping me get some books - and there will be many!
You can find my Amazon Book Wish List here and I would be deeply grateful for your prayers and support in any way as I embark on a new chapter that I am confident God will greatly use in shaping me and molding me into a more godly man.
Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and prayers. God is good and I'm grateful for this incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and stretch myself for His glory.
